ethOss® Honoured with Queen’s Award for Enterprise
ethOss Regeneration Ltd has been presented with a Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2021, in the International Trade category.
The West Yorkshire-based company is one of 205 organisations nationally to be recognised for outstanding achievement by UK businesses.
First awarded in 1966, the Queen’s Awards for Enterprise are the most prestigious business awards in the country, rewarding organisations who excel at international trade, innovation, sustainable development or promoting opportunity through social mobility. Winning businesses can proudly display the esteemed Queen’s Awards emblem for the next five years.
The award comes at a challenging time for UK businesses following the global COVID-19 pandemic. However, despite these uncertain times, ethOss® has experienced continued growth, with turnover and total exports increasing by 22 per cent in 2019/2020.
Incredibly Proud
ethOss® managing director, Dr Paul Harrison, spoke of his pride following the announcement: “We’re incredibly proud to have been recognised with the prestigious Queen’s Award in International Trade.
“Exports now account for 58 per cent of our total turnover and in August 2020 we saw our busiest export month ever. We recently signed partnerships with distributors in France, Turkey, Chile, Kuwait, Latvia and Moldova, with EthOss now being sold in more than 50 countries worldwide.
“The continued hard work of our team has seen us continue to grow year on year, and we’re extremely honoured that this has been celebrated with such a renowned and well-respected award.”
Revolutionising the Dental Bone Graft Market
Founded in 2013, ethOss® was set up by Dr Harrison, a highly experienced biomaterial product development specialist, and Dr Peter Fairbairn, a world-renowned dental surgeon.
Born out of a desire to move beyond traditional artificial scaffolds and donor grafts, the duo set out to create a product that would revolutionise the dental bone grafting market and pioneer true bone regeneration in dentistry and oral surgery.
The result – ethOss® – is a synthetic biomaterial used during dental implant surgery to encourage new bone to grow and support the implant, ultimately leading to a more ethical approach to dental implantology worldwide.
