Swallow Dental Trio Conquer Yorkshire Three Peaks
Three members of the Swallow Dental team have successfully completed the challenging Yorkshire Three Peaks walk to raise funds for Dentaid The Dental Charity.
Leah, Stacey, and Annie took on the 24-mile trek across Yorkshire’s most iconic peaks, Pen-y-Ghent, Whernside, and Ingleborough, enduring over 5,100 feet of ascent, all to support dental care for vulnerable communities.
The Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge is known for its physical and mental demands, but Leah, Stacey, and Annie tackled it head-on. Completing the route in 11 hours and 7 minutes, they pushed themselves through fatigue and steep climbs, motivated by the knowledge that their efforts would make a difference.
“We trained hard to prepare for this challenge, and it was tougher than we imagined,” said Leah. “But knowing we were doing it for Dentaid kept us going. Their work transforms lives, and we’re so proud to contribute to that.”
Dentaid is a UK-based charity that delivers essential dental care to people in underserved communities in the UK and worldwide. Their mobile dental units and volunteer teams provide free treatment to homeless individuals, vulnerable adults, and refugees in the UK. Internationally, Dentaid works to improve dental care in developing nations, offering services, education, and equipment to those who would otherwise go without.
Reflecting on the experience, Annie said, “It was a fantastic day and it felt great that we were pushing ourselves to our limits to support such a fantastic charity. Dentaid’s work is so important and even more so during the recent challenging times in the UK and the rest of the world.”
Even after completing the challenge, Leah, Stacey, and Annie are continuing to raise awareness for Dentaid and encouraging donations. “There’s still time to donate,” said Stacey. “Every contribution, big or small, will go towards helping those who don’t have access to dental care.”
The Swallow Dental team has been overwhelmed by the support they’ve received so far and are hopeful that more people will contribute to their fundraising efforts to help Dentaid continue its vital work.
